CD Player Recommendations

We're looking for a CD player for Stella's nursery.   We want it to play specific tracks or the whole CD continuously, preferably with no pauses.  She is easily soothed with music or white noise and right now we're using our cell phones or laptops to play the music for her.

TIA!

Re: CD Player Recommendations

  • I'm no help for a CD player, but if you have iPods you can pick up docks fairly cheap and just make a Stella playlist to put on shuffle/repeat. Sorry, I know I'm not answering your question but it's all I can think of.

Ummm - we don't have an iPod, except for a shuffle that I take to the gym!  Pathetic, huh?  Especially considering we're an all Mac house! Maybe I should break down and get one :)

  • That actually surprises me that you don't have one!! If you wanted to give up your shuffle and put only Stella stuff on it I actually have a cheap pair of pink speakers that just plug in to the headphone jack. I used them on my desk at the office but now the we have iPhones I just use the phone speaker since I listen to it so low any way. I would gladly give you these speakers, they just run off of the shuffle battery you don't even plug them in the wall.

I was going to suggest the same thing.  We live for our iPod.  Before we had the in-home audio system, we bought this docking/audio system to use with the iPod.  We still use the stand-alone speakers for reasons as you described (in the nursery and/or other rooms that aren't wired for the in-home audio).

  • I would suggest an ipod with a doc as well :) I mean do they even make cd players any more ;)

  • DH and I run an iPod with white noise on it continuously in our OWN room every night.  I think that's your best bet.  They are so inexpensive now, it would be totally worth it.

    Smart mouth. ;-)

We had a CD player in Maggie's room and she broke it. It was kind of chintzy apparently.

Yes, smart mouth, would you like to buy it for me?! ;)

  • I guess we're old school, too.  We use a CD player in Allie's room.  It plays some Baby Einstein CD on repeat all night long and through naptime.  You can repeat a single song or the whole CD.  We've had it for awhile so I don't think a recommendation will be of much help.  I'd just check out Target or Best Buy.  Most of the cheaper ones should do the trick.

  • DD has my iPod.  I miss it!  We have a relaxation mix that plays for 7 hours on there.....along with all my very missed tunes.  We play that mix every night.  One of our older kids gave us an alarm clock/iPod dock that they didn't need, and it sits on her dresser to play her music at night.  I haven't seen that iPod for 6 months.  Worth it.   You just reminded me that I am sick of the current relaxation music.  Time to find something new.
