Nora?

I posted yesterday about naming our new little girl Ireland...and after hearing some of the responses I was wondering what people thought of our other top choice...

We are having another girl - DD#1 is named Lucy & I really LOVE the name Nora. It's a little bit old fashioned...but was wondering what you ladies thought? TIA!

LOVE Nora, I think it works perfectly with Lucy; it has two syllables, four letters, slightly vintage like Lucy. Great choice!

I think it is cute. I like the spelling Norah better (I think it is prettier looking) but both spellings are good.

I actually don't like the name Nora, but it's just a personal preference, there's certainly nothing wrong with the name.

I do, however, think it's a lovely match with Lucy. As veganxangel said--they're of similar style, identical length, same rhythm--it's a perfect match!

love it. this was our top choice, but it means "hole" in my language, so that's a no-go. i like it spelled "nora" without the "h".

I would normally say I would like a "fuller" name with Nora as a nickname but since your DD is Lucy and not Lucille I really like it, and them together!

(I am a music teacher too! Is finding a music sub as hard in MN as it is in NY? I was out for 2 days with a non music sub I wanted to stab my eyes out when I got back to school.)

I love it and agree it goes well with Lucy. Nora is one of my top choices but DH isn't sold on it. One of my great grandmothers was Nora so I like the family connection.

I read a book probably when I was like 10 with a girl named Norah in it and I have loved it ever since. It's in my top choices, but I'm undecided on the Nora/Norah spelling issue.
