is my water gonna break?

I'm 37 weeks and I just felt a sharp, quick shooting pain in my crotch and now I feel like I really have to pee, but nothing is coming out.  No contractions/other signs of labor.  Have drs appt first thing tmw anyway, so no reason to call now.  Just wondering if this is a sign that my water is gonna break tonight?

Anything can happen...  but I have this feeling all the time and nothing has come of it.

when my water broke I had absolutely NO warning...it was fine one min. with what I thought were BH and then all of a sudden it gushed.

Sounds like a severe case of "lightening crotch" to me. I had it SOOO bad once, it felt like I was going to die! Maybe your LO was just shifting or turned. I'm curious to know what your OB says about it! Good luck tomorrow.

This is what happened to me. One minute I was washing dishes, the next I was gushing fluid. I never even had a contraction prior to my water breaking. The broken water was my only sign that labor was imminent.

 Ditto this! I was fine, had no contractions, went to bed only to wake up in a puddle of fluid! Good luck though! Hope your doc gives you good news tomorrow!

Could easily be a UTI....... that's the only situation where I've felt the desperate need to pee, felt pain down there and had nothing left to pee. Try taking a few cranberry pills and drink water (cranberry juice usually is mostly water and sugar, so you'd have to guzzle a gallon to have it do any good) and see if it helps.

It's probably lightning crotch but your doctor can tell you if it's something serious like an UTI. Our prenatal class teacher told us only 10% of women's water breaks but what you are describing sounds common. So it may not be a precursor for water breaking.

Your water breaking doesn't hurt.. it just kinda pops and gushes out. I was asleep and woke up to the first "wave" when mine broke. Again, no pain leading up to it, or after (until the contractions started 45 min later.)
