DD is 6. We only do 3 presents from Santa (DH & I) because she gets a lot of gifts from family and friends. So far we've gotten her a child-sized acoustic guitar (just got it this past weekend at TRU--it was on clearance and an additional 30% off). She always wants to play DH's so we hope she takes interest in this one! We are toying with the idea of a Nintendo DS bundle (like DS+game) if we find a good deal on one before Christmas, but we go back and forth because we're trying to limit her "screen time"... For her stocking I have some small Polly Pocket sets and a package of Silly Bandz that I picked up all on clearance for 75% off at Target a few months ago.
Other things we have on her wishlist (or bought her last year when she was 5, just giving you ideas):
Games--last year she got A LOT of games (from us and from fam/friends)--Yahtzee Jr, Scrabble Jr, Ants in the Pants, Cootie, Don't Spill the Beans, Don't Break The Ice, Jenga, etc.
Etch-A-Sketch
Littlest Pet Shop sets
scooter with new helmet/pads set
Mom to J (10), L (4), and baby #3 arriving in July of 2015
FYI- Walmart.com has great deals on DS bundles. Both my kids got them for the bdays this year. And on that note... they will get games for Christmas this year plus more legos probably. We keep it low key and make a budget for each kid. It gets too out of control if we don't.

Maybe a new anywhere chair...I wish I could just have a cover made with some new fabric. We're thinking about a dog and hoping for a new brother/sister.
My daughter is 7 yrs old and I have NO IDEA what to get her. She has just about everything she could want/need. Between grandparents and great- grandparents, she is spoiled. We still have Chixo Girls from last Christmas that haven't even been opened. Her birthday is also in December. I want to get her something that she will actually use.

I don't know. He's hard this year. Maybe some sort of handheld gaming system (I need to research). A Jr. Chemistry set. Maybe a Jr. Magic Set. Board games, puzzles, books. This is not all from us, by the way - I just recommended the chemistry set to someone, for instance. We'll probably just end up getting the big thing and then I'll pick up books and stuff along the way.
DD, who will be 3 a week before Christmas, is getting a Bitty Baby and a bunch of accessories for BirthdayChristmas (I know, I should differentiate them - when she's older). Also some age-appropriate puzzles (and girly, i.e, not Thomas), since the wooden peg puzzles are too easy and she wants to do his which are too hard.
I have no idea what to get DS this year, he's five. I'm thinking books, movies, some games for his DH, he's getting into Legos too. We're horrible at Christmas because we go way overboard. My parents always gave us awesome Christmas' so I think that's where it stems from
I think we might get a Wii for the whole family. Other than that, I already have a new Leapster cartridge for him. Probably won't get him much else, he has a ton of stuff already that he doesn't play with. Oh, I forget - I'm also getting him Toy Story 3.
My daughter is older (8) and is very spoiled as well by divorced grandparents and also by the fact that she has LOTS of great-grandparents still alive! Plus, I'm guilty of going overboard as I love to give her an exciting Christmas and she's my only! Anyhoo...
I started giving her much more practical gifts as she got a little older. Things that she would use and things that I would probably have bought for her during the year anyway. For example, night stand, funky lamp for room, cool lunch bag with water bottle, desk, stuff like that. Then she always got her 'big" gift too. This is what she's getting this year:

Maybe an ipod docking station for her room. We have an ipod that we don't use and she likes to listen to music when she falls asleep.
