Ralph Lauren sizing

I've heard they run small but does anyone have any experience with the brand, or how it compares to other brands?  I'm looking at a down coat for when we go to Michigan for the holidays and found a great deal on one, but I don't know what size to get.  The sizing chart on their website makes me think I should get the 12m size, but I'm not sure.  He still wears 6-12 month or 12m right now and should for the next couple months.  He's skinny for his height.

I'd get the 18m size although the sizing varies within the brand too. In my experience, Polo runs bigger than Ralph Lauren but even that isn't always consistent.

I think they run small- I think for a coat go up a size or two. All of DD"s coats I am getting in 18-24 months, and they are a little big, but nothing too crazy. And she is tiny for her age.

I bought DS a Ralph Lauren outfit for his blessing and it fit perfectly. It was a 9 month outfit and he was 9 months at the time. BUT he is very chunky, so I would say they run big. Keep in mind the outfit was elastic waste and soft material.

We have a bunch of RL clothing and our LO fits the sizing perfectly as they're labeled. She's about 9.5 months and about 20 pounds, 28" and fit's the 9mo sizes pretty well.... but the only exception to this was this one particular short sleeved polo shirt. I think they're supposed to be stretchy, but it rolls up over her gut.. sooo, that was the only size that i thought was way to small.  maybe my LO has a beer gut. lol. But as for the coats, they did seem to fit perfectly for us.
