  • We tell all our secrets in the chat room...
I'm not cool enough for the chat room.  Plus unless its during work hours I wouldn't make it....

    Clearly I value my work.
If you learned to prioritize chat before family, you could be invited ;)
I prioritize sleep before chat  I-)
    Stupid time zones!
Yeah I think it would be so fun to join you sometime. Maybe the next time I am visiting the family. We're shooting for September for our next trip home.

    See @stringy813?
Someone knows how to put chat before family ;)
  • Since y'all clearly can't stay on topic... I totally love So You Think You Can Dance. DH will watch most HGTV shows, and he enjoys Pawn Stars.

Should we link this thread into ITK's thread?  There's a lot of OT convo she's missing ;)

SYTYCD is my absolute favorite!!! I have bought so many songs after falling in love with certain dances. My favorite dance is still the group zombie routine to Ramalama Bang Bang. Put that on your workout playlist and see if you can still push a stroller and walk like a normal person! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bj5qoo9kQRM

ETA Sorry that's enormous. I don't know how to resize a youtube link.

DH and I watch Bar Rescue on Sunday nights. That is the only show that I watch regularly. I do also like the home shows on HGTV, and I will occasionally watch Dragon's Den, or Hell's Kitchen or Kitchen Nightmares.

  • I don't think I saw much of the season with Twitch and Alex, but that routine is pretty cool! I don't remember much of Alex, but I think it's b/c I didn't start DVRing anything until 2012 or so and missed a lot of the regular shows. I'm so excited that you said the new season starts this month! One of my gfs and I were going to try to go to see the tour when it went to Atlanta this year, but for some reason we couldn't go.

  • I got into SYTYCD late too, @Mapleme‌ . My favorite dance is "Turn to Stone" with Melanie and Marko (I'd link to it, but I can't due to country restrictions :/).

DH will watch pretty much anything with me, but I generally prefer watching by myself so I don't have to listen to his running commentary ;)

  • FFTC My favorite dancers last season were Jenna and Tucker. I didn't like Amy at all until toward the end of the season, even though she is an amazing dancer. I still have great big pitter-patter love for Tucker. He seems like a giant sweetheart!

  • I totally went to their tour! I lived with a good friend of ours for a few months before officially moving to Germany while DH was deployed, and we watched the show together. When the tour came through our area, I got tickets for us as a thank you :)

My favorite reality TV show is The Office. Oh wait that isn't reality? And it's not even on air anymore? Fine I quit.
  • I have to jump into this thread. When I lived in Australia there was a tv show on (I think it was British) called Something about Miriam. It was a bachelor type show with guys trying to win Miriam at the end. The twist at the end though was that Miriam was a man! Hahahaha In order for the guy to win the money he had to agree to go on a cruise or vacation or something with her. I think some of the guys actually tried to sue the network after it aired.

don't you have family Pittsburghish area?  you know Philly is just a hop on the turn pike and Mommy-con is in Philly...just sayin'

ETA: nevermind, i forgot it's the first weekend in October, not September.
Pittsburgh and Philadelphia are not that close ... PA is a huge state! Anyhoo, I should just try to hop onto chat the next time I have insomnia.

meh, it's only like 5 hours.  that's a lot closer than you are now ;)
I've only ever done that drive in the summer ... when PennDOT was working, so it was always more like 6-7 hrs. But yeah, point taken. At least it's in the same time zone.

You are not alone, I don't watch any reality tv too. The only one the I like is a japanese reality show, it's about health and doctors. But that one doesn't count. In fact I kind of lose in this treat I don't know any of those shows, the only one I know is hoarders, and also made my feel cleaning.

Have you seen the advertising for the show that's called (I think) "I Want to Marry Harry?"  It's a Prince Harry look alike doing a Bachelor style show.  The women actually think they're getting an opportunity to marry Prince Harry!  I secretly want to watch it.

Doooooo it.  Screw the book club.  Instead of reading we will discuss crappy tv.
OMG.  A TV club?  Why have we not thought of this sooner?!?!? Looks like you're the host of the threads ;)

  • chopped is on hulu, meesh

and the only problem with those bait and switch shows like prince harry or joe millionaire or whatever is that they try to say the women who leave after after are just gold diggers (which really most are) but what woman in her right mind would say "you've lied to me from day one about who you are, but sure, i still want to marry you"
Me! Me! Oh wait...I'm not in my right mind ;)
  • There were seriously women who think that guy looks like Prince Harry? Shoot. I now declare myself an official Heidi Klum look-alike. Pretty sure my VS contact is in the mail.

He does legitimately look a lot like Prince Harry.  But c'mon...does anyone really think Prince Harry needs a reality show to get some tail? That's the giveaway IMO.

Yeah, he doesn't even look like Harry. And he was in a two year relationship when it was filmed so they obviously found women who don't really know much about him.

@SecretAgentKate‌ you just made my LIFE! We ditched cable and lost Food Network, so no more Chopped. Hulu will be my new BFF.
