crib mattress - regular or organic?
i'm shopping around for crib mattresses and am not sure whether to pick up a normal or organic mattress. the organics are more expensive but are they worth it?
if you bought an organic, do you have any recommendations on which one to get?

We stacked up a couple of BRU gift cards and a coupon to get an organic mattress. Baby Bargains rates a bunch of them of you want to see the various ones. Basically, one of the main reasons for an organic mattress (other than avoiding many of the toxins) is the off-gasses which are put out by the mattress (just like carpet, etc) over time. The theory is that the gasses may contribute in some way to SIDS, though it has not been 100% proven. I don't know if it's worth it but to us, the money was well-spent.
