Oxo makes some super cool storage containers in a bunch of different sizes that stack...
Right now we just use various sizes of Rubbermaid containers, depending on what the item is. (We eventually want to buy the Oxo things I mentioned above.)
i got jars like these years ago, i think they were from Pier 1. I wish they were big enough to hold a whole thing of flour/sugar, but they aren't quite.

I'll have to check those out the next time I'm at Ikea. The price looks good if they are airtight. Have to see if A) a measuring cup will fit through the top of the bigger ones and how heavy they would be when full.
I just use some big plastic tupperware containers. I'd rather use glass but I can't find one that I like the size of the opening and that has an airtight seal on it... so I just keep using my plastic ones. I'd love to find a better alternative. Maybe someday!
Um I must be the only one that actually buys in bulk. I transfer my 25lbs. bags into 5 gallon buckets with screw-on/off lids. I also fill kitchen canisters for when I only need a half cup of something. Although, the brown sugar I keep in a "Tupperware" container to ensure no air gets in.
Don't buy the OXO containers. They look fancy, but one drop and the container practically shatters. Yes, glass breaks too, but they don't seem to be as expensive.
Re: What do you store flour/sugar/bulk items in?
We use these glass jars from Wal Mart. They come in a few different sizes, this is the medium size.
ETA: These hold a batch of granola or a 5 lb bag of sugar/flour perfectly. They really are a great size. We have ours on our counter.

Are these airtight?

I have stainless steel containers that have a seal around the lid. They've worked well for the 3 years we've lived in our house. These are, if not the exact kind, close to the same thing as we have. https://www.nextag.com/Polder-Stainless-Steel-3-521945915/prices-html
I'm sure there are better out there.
