Formula Clicky Poll

Hi Ladies! Congrats on your beautiful little ones! I am currently awaiting the arrival of my first and thought I would sneak over here to get your thoughts on formula. I had a breast reduction that went very badly a few years back, so will be exclusively formula feeding our LO.

Re: Formula Clicky Poll

  • I'm an "other."  We started w/ Similac since we had a full-sized sample (when I switched to FF).  They're really expensive, though.  We started using Up & Up (Target brand) when they did the recall and DD does well on it.  It's comparable to the Similac we were using, and much cheaper!!!

  • We were using Enfamil Premium (Lipil) and Enfamil AR mix until I was at Target one day and found their brand (Up&Up) that is the comparable equivalent for way less - so that is what we use now. LO has taken well to it eventhough she has a sensitive tummy and we have saved $$ too!

  • We're using Enfamil newborn after using up the  similac we were given at the hospital.

  • As pp said target up and up brand! She is doing great on it.
  • Try not to go out and purchase prior to having LO.  We went through several different types in the hospital before we found out what our little man could take.  Not only did he not tolerate some of the formulas, but he wasn't even digesting them.  The formula just sat on his little belly and curdled making him very upset.  They had to pump his stomach.  Good start works great for him. Good luck.

  • We initially used Enfamil and then were planning on moving to the Target brand, but my daughter (my son did too) has to be on hypoallergenic formula.  So we're using Similac Alimentum right now.

  • Other: Tried the name brands, and DS is doing best on Target's up and up.

  • I loved Similac until it was recalled, so we use Enfamil now, which LO hasn't had any issues with. I just preferred Similac  because that's what he had gotten in the hospital (when he had Jaundice).
  • Other - we started out on Enfamil but switched to Costco's Kirkland brand (comparable to Enfamil) because it was like one-third the price. DS didn't even notice the switch and we haven't looked back since!

  • We're using Parent's Choice (the WalMart brand).  The one we buy is an Enfamil knockoff.  It's less than half the price.

Ditto this. DS has reflux and has been on Enfamil Gentlease which works great but I started buying Parent's Choice version of it and we haven't looked back since. The exact same ingredients and amounts (I studied them) for much cheaper!

  • Started with Similac and switched to Kirkland/Costco brand.  Pretty much identical to Similac and much cheaper.
