Mini crib?

Anyone used or know anyone who has used a mini crib? I saw some at BRU and am considering getting one down the road for baby #2. DS will be 20 months and I would love to keep him in his crib as long as possible even if its only 4-6 months to make the transition of bringing home a new baby easier. Baby#2's room is TINY and I think a mini crib would actually fit much easier than DS's full crib.

I thought about it, but I didn't like the quality of either the crib or the mattress. Then I read all the reviews on the BRU site and decided to just get a co-sleeper (the Arms Reach one).

I really want a mini crib for #2 for the first several months because #1 will be 18 months and still in his crib, and it will be tight with 2 large cribs in the nursery.  However, I showed some to my husband last weekend online, and he did not like that they say they are for 1 month and up instead of birth and up.  I said we can use a PNP for the first month, but he thinks the fact they say 1 month + demonstrates that they're not as safe as regular cribs.  Then, he looked at our Consumer Reports book, and it said full-size cribs are the safest option.  Thus, we won't be getting one.  I personally think it would be fine, but my husband is the THE most safety-conscious person I know.  A nice, but annoying, thing :-)

Thanks for the info ladies. The one we saw in store and liked was this one https://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4066940 and it appears to have gotten good reviews. I never noticed the for 1 month and above...that does make me nervous.
