Cincinnati Babies

Advice needed

So- Collin has his shots. He got them this week. We haven't taken him out prior to his shots except for my occasional (3 times) absolute need to go to the grocery store.

Tomorrow is the UC v. Miami game and yes I know its a night game so I need advice. We have no intention of staying at the game but by the way the games are falling this would be the only game we could possibly take him to (for even one quarter). DH wants (for some reason- his son at his alma mater football game) and I so I look to you ladies. PS- we have season tickets under the covered part and its next to our friends so no he won't be around strangers. Their daughter has a heart condition so if she's remotely sick (or them) they won't be there because she can't be around that.

DO we- take Collin to the UC game (even if only for 1-1.5 hours) and then go to Deweys or Camp Washington Chili and then head home? (we have an ergo carrier with an infant insert for him).

DO I stay home again and let DH go alone?

Do we both sit this game out?

I'd leave Collin with my parents (who live here) but tomorrow is my mom's birthday and my dad is taking her out of town for the weekend..

Thoughts...

Re: Advice needed

  • Go with the baby in the ergo and enjoy yourself. It shouldn't be too cold and he will probably sleep the whole time.

  • Take him in the Ergo, as long as you feel comfortable doing so. I'd be fine doing that.

  • Take him and have fun!
  • i'd go-the weather will be nice. Dont let people hold him. Honestly this might be the easiest time to have him at a game for a while. We never took DD and now she is 16 months and I couldnt imagine trying to take her now she is all over the place. Have fun! My dad and DH will be there.

  • Thanks guys- one more question. With the infant insert- what should I put him in to wear. At 6pm they are saying it will still be 80 degrees..so I'm guessing the weather will be great... should I just put him on a sleeper (so his feet are enclosed or a long sleeve onesie?

I've never taken him out at night so I'm clueless.

  • Take her!  We use the Ergo all the time with the infant insert.  DD gets really hot in it, so in 80 degree weather I would have her in a short sleeve onesie and that's it!

    Ditto this.

DS would sweat like crazy... betwene the body heart and the carrier a short sleeve onesie would be fine. Maybe bring a light blanket and extra clothes to ease your mind if you need it.

    Have fun!

  • I agree with the others.  You don't realize how easy it is to take a newborn who will sit in the ergo and sleep until they're too old.  Or at least we didn't. Stick out tongue IMHO, it'll be easier to go tomorrow than it will in a year.

Ditto the others- don't let others hold the baby, take another set of clothes, and be able to add layers if you need to.  When the sun drops is when it gets cooler really quickly!

    Enjoy the game!
