Bad stitch job after delivery??

Anyone have a bad stitch job done after delivery? This is probably TMI but I did and she told me after delivery that I may have some frustration with it but there wasnt anything for her to do at that point bc she needed to stop the bleeding. I really didnt care at that point but now I certainly do. Saw my doc (as the one who did mine left the practice) and she basically said I overhealed and they would have to recut and stitch again or just wait it out and they can fix when I have a second kid, lol! I said of course I want another one but it took some time with our first so I dont know how long I can live with it. Then Im not sure if insurance would even cover such a thing. Anyone else have this? Did you get it fixed or maybe it became better with time? I dont enjoy sex anymore and cant really even use a tampon so I think I need to get it fixed but I keep putting it off thinking its going to get better

  • OUCH!!!  So Sorry... I would get it fixed because maybe if you don't LO#2 might not come along.

  • I've never heard of this.  It might be worth it though if you're really in a lot of pain.

  • I think if your in pain I would. I didn't necessarily have a bad stitch job, but it took just over 3 months to completely heal, and I was in pain the whole 3 months, it hurt to use the bathroom and to sit, and I couldn't even think about sex! Now that I am healed, I can still feel the scar, and it is still painful sometimes with certain positions during sex. You don't want to spend the next year or two uncomfortable or in pain.

  • I had no idea you could have it corrected!

It will be 5 months next week, and sex is still excruciatingly painful for me.  I had a stage 3 tear with #1, and tore completely this time due to the scarring.
