I find this really interesting. I was just reading a blog where the owner posted complaining about receiving anonymous comments. And of course this isn't the first time I've seen this. Blog writers gets upset that people don't have the 'guts' to write under their own name. Now...I don't blog, or have any plans to. I do believe that if you write a public blog, you open yourself up. And especially if you write a blog post that you know will get people riled up. I don't agree with plain ol' rude or disrespectful comments, but that's just me. Bottom line is, if you don't want anonymous comments...don't allow it in your comment section! And if it does bother you so much, why are you putting yourself out there?
Re: Those who blog...
Why don't some bloggers have comment approvals then?
We have a private blog that only close family & friends know about, and still we have comment approvals.
IMO I don't mind anonymous commenters (even though there aren't any on my blog). Just because the blogger will give out information to the webz, doesn't mean everyone wants to be "out there"
if you don't want annonymous comments then don't allow them. it's common sense.
but people lack that- so someone_bitching about it is a given.

I totally disagree with this. It's the internet. Unless you have a private blog, like you said, you ARE "out there".
Mostly just friends and family know about my blog but I still have comment approval.
