Sashimi after delivery?

Is that possible? Because I'm sooooo craving for raw fish sashimi right now!!! I told hubby to make sure he gets sushi takeout from our fav place and have it ready when I'm done delivering....

Do the doc's let you eat right away after delivery?

    depends. I wasn't allowed to eat until 24 hours after pitocin and a c-section.

    You can have sashimi now though.  I had it last night. And it was goooood!

    I had a big old sashimi platter for dinner last night. MMmm!! 
     
    Doc said it was fine for me since raw fish was such a staple to my diet pre-PG. I mean really, do they think Japanese women don't eat sushi while PG? haha Anyway, for now, are you okay with veggie maki, or rolls with bbq eel or cooked shrimp and crab?

    My BFF had some the day after delivering her son (he was born late the night before).  She had her sister bring her some.  She didn't ask the doctor, he wasn't around.  And the nurses didn't say anything about it.

    Yup, yup.... have been eating my bbq eel, soft shell crab, shrimp tempura roll... etc. Sneaking in few salmon sashimi here and there too!!!

    I vote now too! I'm going to my fave all-you-can-eat sushi restaurant this weekend.

    Haha...this! I had this discussion a few months ago with some japanese gf's of mine who looked at me like I'd sprouted a sashimi head when I told them what our doc's usually say!

    As long as it is from a reputable place, go for it!
