As in, baby food meat, what age did you start? His pedi said we can go ahead and introduce them, but I didn't realize they could start them this young.
I only did the jarred kind few and far between and only Earth's Best meals because they were more veggie like, less like meat sludge.
Everyday, I give plain whole milk or greek yogurt for protein.
Within the last month or so I started offering diced chicken, turkey, ground beef crumbles etc...

We just got the ok from our pedi today to start meats. I don't think I would feed my LO meat at 6 months old. Maybe put a call in to your pedi to confirm that it's ok to give meat at such a young age.
I've been reading A LOT that says that meats should actually be a 1st food - def not trying it until I talk to my pedi though. Drew hates fruits, but he'll do (some) veggies. It takes him 3 days to eat a single jar though, so we def aren't the norm here...
Our Dr said we could at 6 months, I did it once...I almost threw up from the smell of it and have since refused to give him baby meats. I just waited until he was ready for big people food and chopped and diced our food for him.

Yeah, I'm not going to give him any. The poor kid is just now getting used to the stage 2 food. It just struck me as odd that his doctor would give us the go-ahead at such a young age.
I have done both turkey and chicken. I used ground turkey that I cook on the stove, then pureed. I also baked chicken thighs and then pureed them. LO loved both mixed with a veggie.
You did say baby food meat so I probably shouldn't answer but what the heck...I'm bored. We started table food meat at 5 3/4 months. She eats everything but beef liver so far.
Bean has had beef (slow-cooked pot roast), steamed salmon, and shredded chicken. He loves it all! We don't do the pureed meat, because, unless it's pate, that sh!t is nasty.

We started meat as a first food, turkey at 5 3/4 months and steak at 6 months, I pureed it myself and the baby loves it plain or mixed with veggies. Check out the WHO complementary feeding guidelines, for breastfed babies especially, meat provides a great source of iron, zinc and protein. I chose to do it early so the baby would accept the taste, so that I could avoid giving commercially prepared rice cereal for iron as I think of it as the "Wonder Bread" of the baby food world.
I just gave my LO meat for the first time yesterday - Beech Nut's Sweet Potato and Chicken. She loved it. And it actually didn't smell bad - it actually smelled kind of good.

I wouldn't start at 6 months, it should be closer to 8-9 months.
First we did pork, then chicken, then beef.
We just gave Z chicken a week ago. We just sprinkled it with garlic powder and grilled it. He does BLW though.
This is what I was thinking. When he mentioned it, I was like uh, really?
