60% effaced

okay I had my Dr. Appt today and had my cerclage taken out.  She checked me and said I am 60% effaced and 1-2 cm dilated on the outside of cervix but only 1/2 ct. dilated inside where the stitch was holding.  I am just about 37 weeks pregnant.....how quickly will I go from 60 to 100% effaced I am wondering??? My doc said my cervix was very soft and that she doubts I will make it to due date of 10-21

I'm sorry, but I don't think anybody will know the answer to that.  Every body is different...it could be days or weeks, no way to know for sure!

I was 100% effaced for three weeks.  (and went four days overdue)  It matters more how rapidly your effacement happens then how effaced you are.  You could go tonight, you could go over due.  Good luck!

I am at about the same as you 2cm dilated 60% effaced and just hit 37 weeks, I don't think it really means anything about when you are going into labor.  I just think of it as it is just a little less I will have to do when I am in active (painful) labor.

How funny is that. I have the exact same story from today (minus the effaced part; they didnt tell me that info) but the dilation, being 37 weeks, and due date of 10/21 is all the same. Now Im home cramping like crazy!!

luck, I went to the dr today and I am 1-2 in dialated and 60% effaced. My EDD is 10/22. Crazy huh?
