Mine had velamentous cord insertion. But it seems to have fixed itself so now I get to see a midwife again. Sorry to hear about the complication but most places are so good at watching that stuff now. Best of luck to you!
We also found out at the 20 week ultrasound that our baby girl has SUA. Everything has been fine so far, and i've talked to so many other moms and nurses who reassured me that these babies are usually healthy and perfect! (But maybe just a little small.) I am at 36 weeks, and the perionatologist estimated that she weighs 5 lbs 4 ozs. So that's pretty good! Try not to worry. I know you never want to hear anything less than "perfect" about your baby, but these babies are usually fine! 1 out of 100 babies have SUA (per our doctor), so it's not **that** uncommon. I was advised to go very easy on cardio exercise, so that the bloodflow to baby isn't compromised any more. We get weekly growth ultrasounds now, just to make sure she doesn't plateau in her growth. (And honestly, getting to see her every week is a big perk!) I wish you the best, and try not to worry - if possible
My baby also has a two vessel cord (single artery). We had another u/s at 28 weeks (and another at 29 but that was for a different issue) and we'll have another at 34. I don't really know yet what the plan will be after that. My LO also has kidney issues (only one appears to be functional) but they don't think it's directly related to the two vessel cord. I've heard the single artery is very common and that you shouldn't google it because almost every abnormality has, at some point, been linked to the single artery cord (even if it's not true).
