So my LO has a line on either side of her head that is kind of indented and crooked, you can follow it with your finger. I'm pretty sure she's had it for quite some time and the pediatrician would have noticed if it was something to be worried about during his examinations.
However, tonight I started doing the first-time mom thing where I needed to freak out about something, so that's what I picked.
Anyone else's LO have these indentations? Is it just where the skull isn't fused together yet?
Or is my pediatrician dumb & over-looked something serious?
I'll probably call Monday anyway, but it'd be nice to stop thinkin about it for a bit tonight :P
Re: Indentations on baby's skull
I know soft spots are normal :P
It isn't soft spots - they're more like... ridges I would say? They even have like a vein running along them (I'm guessing because they're bluish). I think it might be where her skull hasn't fully joined yet but IDK.
For Sky it's a line that you can feel pops out running along his forhead front to back. So not really "indented" more of the opposite.
my DS has this...almost like half a diamond shape on the top of his head. He doesn't have much hair and the hair he does have is light, so it's noticable. I asked teh dr about it at some of his first appts and it's just part of the skull. It will fuse. He's 4.5 months and still has it. Nothing to worry about. I didn't notice it with my DD but she had so much dark hair, it would have been hard to see.
