We're attending a wedding in about 4 weeks and I have nothing to wear. Dress code is stated as formal, but I suspect it's more along the lines of semi-formal, knowing my area. It will be late spring here, so probably warmish weather (3pm wedding, indoors).
My body shape has changed drastically post-baby, and I can't fit into anything I wore pre-pregnancy. My stomach is still bulging - I could probably pass for about 5 months pregnant, which is depressing. Anyway, the big stomach means I may have to go plus size - the rest of me is about a size 14/16 (18 in Australia, but US sizes run larger), but I had to buy a size bigger in pants when I bought a pair of jeans the other day, strictly due to my tummy (which is horrid since they're baggy everywhere else).
I look better in V-necks or deeper scoop necks thanks to Zee Boobies - nothing high on the chest. I'm short waisted, which means shopping for dresses can be tricky - fitted ones often don't hit me in the right place and wrap dresses often ride up to under my boobs.
Oh, and the wedding is in a Catholic church so I'll need to have my shoulders covered.
I'd really appreciate any ideas - even just a general style that you think might work. If I can't get what you link to, I can at least look for something similar (although some companies like Nordstrom have started shipping to Australia). Please please please help me!
Re: PLEASE help me shop!
Oh, I forgot to link to the two I've found so far...do you think either of these (or a style similar to either of these) would work?
Tadashi Shoji Cap Sleeve Silk Dress (pretty, but $298 - ouch!)
J Kara Beaded Dress (do you think this would be shapeless in real life?)
What about this one? Yes, I know it's a crappy eBay dress, BUT I'm probably only going to wear this dress once, so at least the $20 pricetag is right...
(Not sure if this PIP will work)
i just emailed you w/some links
i LOVE the first ($$$) dress...and i like the cut of the ebay dress but am not a huge fan of where the white is..if it were all black i'd like it better

I really like the first dress - it's just so pricey, and I very much doubt I'll wear whatever I buy more than once.
Thank you! *off to check email*
I like what you have already! I'm a horrible shopper because I pretty much only shop at one store cuz I love their styles/know my size/am too lazy to shop elsewhere (although I will once in a while)...
But since you're not looking to spend too much and shipping is already kinda expensive to AU, here are maybe some more affordable dress options? I looked for black ones since that's what you had in your first posts...

Love this and think you'll get the most wear out of it post-wedding. I'm going to post some links too...not sure if you can order her and have it shipped there though.

Add a shawl or wrap for the church. Also, not sure if you have any body slimmers, but post-baby I am definitely relying upon them. I have one that is like bike shorts with a wide (like 10 inches) elastic band at the top. Hold everything in. Something like this might be better since it'll smooth everything out too:

Hang in their mama...you're only 5.5 months post-partum with TWINS! Try not to be so hard on your body...it produces your two wonderful boys and you've lived to tell about it (and enjoy them)! Worst case scenario? Go with one of those "trendy" swing dresses...hides a multitude of sins and is in style right now!
