A family friend of ours just had a baby girl and named her Jovanna. Joe-vah-nah
Just wondering what the general consensus is. I like it! Definitely different. And it breaks the "ayden" naming trend that our friends/family have jumped on. (The last 3 babies born before this one were Zaiden, Aidan, and Braeden. Actually, now that I think of it, little Jovanna's brother is named Kaden lol)
Re: Jovanna - WDYT?
I didn't notice that before, but now that you mention it, it does. The father is named Joe. I wonder if thats what they were going for.

Yep, I'd bet it's a creative spelling to try to incorporate dad's name, or to make it easier for Americans to pronounce. (It's not on BTN, in case anyone was wondering.)
This is what I thought of as soon as I read the post name.
I have heard the name before, but I just can't place where it was.
It's an okay name (I typically love the ah-na ending on girl names), but it's just nms.

I know a Jovonna in her early 20s, and the name suits her just fine, but it's really not my style at all.
