Plum allergy?? PIP need advice

We have been very good about waiting 4 days between giving food. Yesterday we gave G plums, which he loved, but later in the morning a spot developed on his cheek and spread and got worse toward the end of the day (PIP was about its worst). There was a tiny new spot by his eye this morning but it never got worse. Can it be an allergic reaction to plums?
I didn't expect that plums could do this neither DH nor I eat them maybe that is even the case since he has never had them in utero or BM.

  • They do look like hives.. its hard to say if the plums are the cause but it could be.

  • I agree it does look like hives. Hope it clears up soon.
  • I have a friend who has a child that has several several allergies. Her child is allergic to plums. I would call your dr. right away and discuss your options!

  • It does look like hives.  You should call the pedi before giving more or anything else new really.  Because I think that plums are similar to other fruits that you would want to be careful with if it turns out he is allergic.  Not sure what else, but I remember reading it when dd was 6 months and I was getting ready to give foods.  I think peaches and a couple more are related.
