PCOS Preggos

Hey ladies!

For those of you on metformin, did you have to stop taking it while pregnant? I was ok for the first 5-6 weeks or so, but then after about another 6 weeks of diarrhea, my dr told me to ween off the metformin. This worries me a little bit, but I haven't been able to get in to see my endocrinologist, so I'm not sure what to think. The diarrhea has finally stopped, so I know it was the met, which is weird because I have been on it for 3 years and it never bothered me before.

    I only took it through the first trimester. I'm pretty sure that is the standard protocol for PCOS.

    I will be on 500mg my entire pregnancy.  I will go off of it completely when the baby is born and I breastfeed.

    My RE took me off at 12 weeks. They told me I am more likely to have GD due to PCOS and insulin resistance- which now I do Sad .

    I've been on my regular dose of 2000 mg throughout my pregnancy. This is at the advice of my endo. Surprisingly the met side effects I dealt with pre PG went away almost completely on e I got pregnant. Good luck to you!

    I have stayed on 1000mg. throughout my pregnancy! I am not IR, but both my RE and OB suggested I stay on it. So far I've had no problems!
    Me: 34, DH: 44 TTC: 7 years Tried Clomid, Femara 5mg., Follistim/IUI (all BFN) BFP on April 30, 2010 Metformin 1000mg., Femara 10mg. (days 3-7) IT'S A BOY! Jaxx arrived 1/11/11 Cautiously expecting #2 9/5/13...Femara 5mg.
