Our dentist recommends we get a fluoride-free toothpaste for our DD who is 13 months old. Is there anything else we should consider when choosing a toothpaste? I'm looking at the Tom's of Maine fluoride-free strawberry toothpaste, but it has Sodium Lauryl Sulphate in it, and I'm not sure if this is safe or not. Any other suggestions for swallow-able toothpaste?
Re: Toothpaste for Toddlers
I was surprised to find that the Colgate brand toddler toothpaste seemed pretty benign, at least from my simple knowledge. No SLS in it, or parabens, I know at least one of those is in the Oragel stuff.

Honestly, I wouldn't trust any of the larger manufacturers, but that's me. Here's the Colgate ratings on Cosmetics Database: Link

That specific one wasn't listed. But I do understand your point. I was actually shocked when I read the ingredient list, and we were somewhere without many options. I was relieved that it didn't seem to bad.
I'm in a small town without many choices, so we usually have to go with Tom's or Burt's type products, but I'm disappointed that those aren't rating as well as they "seem" like they should.
