High-Risk Pregnancy

Progesterone Level 10.5

I am a little over 6 weeks my blood work came in and my doctor's office called and said my pegesterone level was a little low 10.5 and they like it to be at 20. So she perscribed me the hormone until I'm 10 weeks then my body should produce by its self.

Anybody else experience this?

Re: Progesterone Level 10.5

  • I did and I learned it is fairly common.  I was on Prometrium for quite a while (week 6 to 14). Everything turned out fine and I am expecting a healthy little girl. :)  Good luck to you!

  • Thanks for your feedback!

Tonight will be my first dosage vaginally! The only trick is its a oral medication they want me to take vaginally!!!!!!!! YIKES we will see how it goes come morning!

  • Mine was 8.6 at 5 weeks.  I was on Prometrium until 12 weeks.

FWIW, I am also on 17-P (progesterone shots) that I started at 16 weeks to prevent another premature delivery.  It appears with me that I have a progesterone issue all around.

My little boy is healthy!  I hope everything turns out well for you!

  • Well The pegesterone went ok last night was my first dosage. No cramping or any other harsh side effects when I woke up this morning. The only thing wasmy Breast were extremly tender.
  • Good! I will warn you that the progestrone did make my nausea worse, but I also have hypermesis so it was probably just a bad combo.

  • Im taking it vaginally so I really didnt have any side effects this morning when I woke up
  • I use progesterone suppositories.

My advice is to wear a panty line from now on as the progesterone will leak and get your panties really wet.   It takes 2-3 days for it to build up and leak, but it will leak.

Be sure to change your liner often so you don't feel so wet down there and invite a UTI to develop in all that dampness.
