Ibuprofen for teething ?

Just curious if any of you ladies have given your LO's Ibuprofen during their teething stages, when the pain and misery was too much and keeping them so unhappy and unable to have a good night's rest ... I have read on a couple of the other boards that this was helpful.  Which brand have you used / would recommend?  TIA  We have every type of teether imaginable and the tablets do work sometimes .... but now DS has a cold and his 2nd lower tooth is buldging and ready to pop through and he is just miserable.  I want to help him.

Re: Ibuprofen for teething ?

  • Uh.... YES times a thousand, lol. I was resistant at first but dealing with a screaming baby at bedtime got old fast. Ibuprofen lasts longer than Tylenol and I've heard is more effective. We give it to him about a half hour before bedtime when he seems to be dealing with teething (drooling, fussy, etc). We just use Target brand.

  • Yes - have used it myself and recommend it to patients. Infant Motrin or any generic brand is fine.

  • Yes, I give her the generic target brand and it seems to help. GL
