At the end of October DH and I are thinking about taking a trip to CA for a 5 day weekend. I am wondering if anyone has ever traveled to different time zones with a little one before. Do we keep him on his regular schedule as if we were still home, or adjust it for the new time? His internal clock isn't going to know that it's 6pm and not 9pm, so what is the best way to deal with that? The traveling is going to be enough on him, I want to try to make it as easy as possible for him to adjust. TIA!

Re: Traveling to a different time zone
We traveled to Arizona when my DD was 14 months ... a three-hour change. Surprisingly, she adjusted really well. Her usual bedtime was 8 p.m. and she usually slept until 7:30 a.m. Once out there, I decided to keep her up as late as I could the first night, and there was enough activity to keep her awake until 7 p.m. (Arizona time). She did get up at 6 (so 9), which was fine. I think her body clock adjusted better than mine.
Good luck.
