Hi I am new to this and I just wanted to know if this is normal.. I am 5weeks and 1 day pregnant and I just found out my bhch is 8,070 could this possibly be twins? I go for my first ultrasound 9/22/10

Some say that the higher the beta, the more chance of twins, but that's really not true.  Hcg levels can be the same in both a single or twin pregnancy.  The only way to know for sure is by an ultrasound.  Check this chart out: https://www.advancedfertility.com/earlypre.htm

There is no way to know if you are having multiples based off beta levels. Many women have higher beta levels with singleton pregnancies than with their multiples pregnancies.

The range is huge, and meaningless. All that matters is the rate of increase, which should be a double in 48-72 hours.

I was thinking the same thing.  I got my first betas back from 9/7 and they are 9727 and I was barely 5 weeks!

I get my first ultrasound on 9/22 too!

Wow sooo exciting.... My blood was drawn on the 8th ... Definitely let me know what happens!!
