Moby vs sleepy wrap?

Hey AP momma's :) I just wondered what you all preferred when wearing you child. Just had my 3rd little one and I'm finding that I'm going to need to do something to keep up with my very active 4 and 2 year old. As much as I would love to sit here and have my little man sleep on me all day, it is just not realistic. I have a friend who has a moby wrap that she has for sale for $21.50. When looking at the differences though I saw that the sleepy wrap does have some spandex in it opposed to just cotton. Is it really that big of a difference?

Thanks for the insight.

  • I've not used a Moby so I can't compare the fit of the material but I do love my SW.  It's a stretchy cotton jersey.

  • I've seen both in a local store and felt the differences. The sleepy wrap is much more stretchy and therefore easier to get a good tight wrap with. I also think the spandex is supposed to make it more sturdy as baby gets bigger. The moby is great but IMO the sleepy is better. The store employee seemed to agree with me and she wears babies in the different carriers all day. She said the only reason the moby is so popular is bc it's sold in the big stores like target and bru. HTH

  • Also you may want to look into a k'tan. Its similar to the moby/sleepy but you don't have to wrap it and may be quicker with your older kids running around.
