I know what they mean. I am curious on why people use it. It is obvious not every post is board related or pre-school related. Like I said over 90% of the stuff on the boards is not board related.

Sorry, my bad for not reading your request well. I think it's probably to alert readers of when it doesn't apply. While you don't care, there are those who will flame others for posting something not related to the board topic as a waste of their time in opening the post and reading enough to figure out it is not board topic related. So people identify the posts as NBR/NPSR as a courtesy to those who prefer to only read BR/PSR stuff.
i use it only when it is really out of left-field. More like a personal issue - like when I posted about staying at my job. It is personal, and completely not related to the board, general discussion, celebrity gossip, etc. It is something that not everyone is going to be interested in.
Now if it is something I think the majority of people would be interested in, then I don't put that term, PS related or not.
Re: NPSR? NBR?
NPSR = non-preschool related
NBR = non-baby related
IOW, subject matter not really relevant to the general board topic in all likelihood.
