dd has the imaginarium cozy country one... it's a little narrower than this one and no attic, but huge.  really well made.  plus I found it on sale last nov for only $99.  I think it was in the $150 range prior???  maybe it will go on sale in the fall?  do you get their emails?  daily sale emails?

No, I do not get emails from them...off to look into that!  Still cannot imagine the price going low enough to justify but I will look into the other one and I am considering the Savannah or the modern one from Kid Kraft...which makes the Imaginarium ones too.

Do you know anyone who is handy at carpentry that could make one for you? My grandad made one for my Mum 40 years ago and I got it when I was a kid. I'm refurbishing it now and I love it! my boys love it too!

It is really big.  The kids played with it at a Marriott Vacation Club and DS LOVED it,  his favorite part was the outside which is why I REALLY want it.  DD liked it too but she was only 19 mo so there is time to get more into it.  But not only would I need to find room for it but it is so expensive and we are cutting back.  I wish I knew someone that could make one, my Dad was the only person that I knew that was handy and he passed away three years ago.  Oh, and I wanted to say how nice it is to hear another Mom that is more than happy with her son(s) playing with a dollhouse.

That one is awesome!!  But it would take over your entire playroom/area.  My girls have the Savannah one and love it!  Got it last year for Christmas and it's a good size (bigger than they are) without taking over the whole room...  Not a bad compromise anyway.
