I just had to buy some Avent bottles and they come with stage 2 nipples - which I don't need. I'm on to stage 3 so I had to buy them separately. In an ideal world you'd be able to buy the nipples separately so you only get what you need

Re: Bottles should come without nipples
My bottles, Playtex VentAire Advanced, come with fast flow nipples. Which I realize I will need eventually, but it makes me mad that I have to buy slow flow nipples now. Also, the bottles come in packs of three and the nipples come in packs of two so in order to have a nipple for every bottle you have to buy two packs of bottles and three packs of nipples. I think it's stupid.
When I first bought them, I assumed that they would have slow flow nipples and couldn't figure out why LL kept coughing and acting like he was choking while we were feeding him.
This exactly.... we just switched from Tommy Tippees to Avent- he does much better on them, but now, I have a dozen size 2 nipples that won't be used... until we decide to have baby #2.
