Bottles should come without nipples

I just had to buy some Avent bottles and they come with stage 2 nipples - which I don't need.  I'm on to stage 3 so I had to buy them separately.  In an ideal world you'd be able to buy the nipples separately so you only get what you need :)

Re: Bottles should come without nipples

  • My bottles, Playtex VentAire Advanced, come with fast flow nipples. Which I realize I will need eventually, but it makes me mad that I have to buy slow flow nipples now. Also, the bottles come in packs of three and the nipples come in packs of two so in order to have a nipple for every bottle you have to buy two packs of bottles and three packs of nipples. I think it's stupid.

When I first bought them, I assumed that they would have slow flow nipples and couldn't figure out why LL kept coughing and acting like he was choking while we were feeding him.

  • You don't like the Born Free Bottles?  Asher gets formula all over himself when he uses stage three.  But I felt that way when we went from 1 to 2, I spent a mint on new nipples.

  • OMG I bought Avent bottles today too and had to buy the stage 3 nipples separate as well... and was thinking the exact same thing, I was wishing they were cheaper and I could choose which nipple I wanted to go with it!!

This exactly.... we just switched from Tommy Tippees to Avent- he does much better on them,  but now, I have a dozen size 2 nipples that won't be used... until we decide to have baby #2.

  • We bought some Nuby bottles when they were on sale. They are super cute, but the nipples are positively awful.  Sarah would suck and suck for 30 minutes and not even get an ounce out of them.  I wound up chucking the nipples and buying Nuk brand, which pretty much negated the whole being on sale.
