We did it last year and it was a lot of fun. My MOMS Club books a private event for one night and sells tickets as a fundraiser, so it limited the number of people that were there (I think we sold 400 tickets but on a regular night it can be MUCH more crowded than that). Riding the train is fun and your baby will enjoy it even at 11 months. I think the wait to sit in Santa's lap was about 20-30 minutes.
If you want, send me your email address and I'll let you know when tix go on sale for this year. You'll probably have a better time going on a less crowded night than a regular night when it's open to the public.
