So Ally is a little over 8 months and FINALLY...she rolled! That girl would not roll for the longest time and even the pedi brought up that she wanted to watch for that. Well...with rolling came actually moving from point A to point B within a couple of days. So this whole weekend, she was a little more mobile. But her crawling is so funny. I always knew she hated to be on her tummy and just wants to stand all the time (even when she was only a few months old). So she basically has one foot planted on the ground (walking) and the other knee on the ground (crawling). My mom calls it the 3 arm crawl. It's pretty much like a bear crawl/walk. I've never seen this in any of my cousins or with Emmy. But I think it's hilarious...

Re: Anyone's kid do the bear crawl?
That is a funny crawl -- hope you have some video of it!
And no, neither of my girls did that. BUT, Elena was 8 months before she rolled over, and she also started crawling pretty much right away then. I must admit that I still liked that I could lay her down on her back and find her in exactly the same spot I left her for 8 whole months!

both of my kiddos were late at crawling, ds was almost 1 year before he got motivated enough to crawl. he is trying to walk now and does that bear crawl thing. it is cute. i don't know how long it will last, but if he's like his older sister, he'll be doing this or crawling for a little while longer. she was 15 months before she completely took off and walked on her own. she'd just walk if you were holding her hand.
good luck.

She's actually tipped and bumped her head on the floor or something a handful of times already. What's amazing is that she's not crying! She use to cry about EVERYTHING, but not that she's mobile, she pretty much continues on like everything is so great now.
Cooper falls ALL the time now (he pulls up on things and lets go) but I swear sometimes he starts to cry and looks around like "hmmm if I cry they're going to come get me and I won't get to play with this really cool thing." Then he sort of shakes it off, takes a deep breath and goes right back to whatever he was doing. Freedom is more motivating than pain apparently.
