Anyone else follow the guidelines in this book? we are trying to and it is working out ok so far. However, I'm wondering how you are supposed to do anything else with them when all they do is sleep. I want to do more baby wearing and am wondering how this fits in with the books recommendations when our twins are always wanting to sleep. You are supposed to put them down "drowsy but awake" and not let them fall asleep in bouncy seats, swings etc. But that means I'm always just putting them back in their cribs immediately after nursing. At least once a day, when they seem somewhat awake, I do put them in a swing or bouncy seat or have some skin to skin time though.
I know the book doesn't really apply when they are before their due date (which they hit today), so maybe they will have more "awake time" soon and this will be a non-issue.
Re: healthy sleep habits, happy twins + baby wearing?
Your last paragraph is correct.
We tried to follow EASY from the beginning so I always did some awake/activity time after feeding before putting them back down. We followed HSHHC starting at 7w and it was very helpful. (Mine were just 2 weeks early.)
What is EASY??
:::butting in:::?
It's the method described in Secrets of the Baby Whisperer by Tracy Hogg.I just read it. ?She outlines a schedule to folow which is Eat, Activity time, Sleep, You time (you time happens while babies are sleeping). ?
Don't worry, they'll start to have more awake time soon. ?I've recently started doing EASY. Couldn't before because they just wanted to sleep when they weren't eating, there was almost no awake time! ?Now, they are awake more and are doing activity mat, interacting with me, etc.
