childbirth classes

I am 24 weeks, I live in Hopkins and my birthing center is in Stillwater but since we will need to start going for doctor appointments more frequently starting the 3rd trimester we don't want to make an extra trip there every week for childbirth classes. We are looking for classes around the hopkins/st.lous park/edina area. Just wanted to know if anyone has any recommendations for me?? Thanks!!

I would think that Methodist or FV Southdale would offer them even for non-patients.

There is a new birthing center in SLP, too, but I don't know if they have classes.

We liked Amma Maternity in Edina.  They do all the classes for Methodist Hospital.

We signed up for BF, baby care and a cloth diapering workshop at Amma Maternity in Edina.  Prices are reasonable...

The Childbirth Collective offers free classes weekly in Edina at Blooma and in St. Paul at Health Foundations. They are called Parent Topic Nights on their website. These are the only classes I went to during my first pregnancy and I'm going to a few this pregnancy too (the topics I missed the first time). I highly reccomend them!

We've been taking classes at Amma maternity in Edina - right by Southdale.  Love it so far.  We are 2/3 done with Preparing for Childbirth which is very informative.  We purchased their package which includes that class as well as Breastfeeding and Baby Care Basics.  Just did Breastfeeding last night and it was pretty good...sure did learn a lot!  They have a lot of other classes there too that look interesting and their staff are great!  I'd highly recommend them.
