My coworker who bailed without calling or texting on setting up the personal shower for me with my sister is planning one that is work only.... she somehow got the idea that I actually got things off my registry (only got two items and a bunch of clothes and baby toys) so told everyone at work to only bring diapers and wipes for the first year. I know I should be glad that we are gonna be all set when it comes to changing LO, at least thats what DH says, and I know the registry is just a guideline, but I am still disappointed/annoyed. It means we are going to have to go get all the bottles, sheets, blankies, the diaper genie, mattress, safety stuff, grooming kit, etc ourselves, so in addition to saving up to pay bills while I am off work, we gotta come up with a way to pick this stuff up too, and find a place to store all the diapers and wipes when all our *** and the baby's is crammed into one bedroom at my parents place.
In all reality, I know we can do this, we are so not broke even though it will be tight for a bit, but I'm still like WTF, all you had to do was go look at the registry and see that nothing has really been marked off there.

I am late but here's mine. I judge the really young mothers on here. Like when somebody put on 1st tri that she turned 21 yesterday, I imemdiately judged her for being too young. Eh, flame me away.
I think everyone judges young moms..I do it too, and I am a young mom. I had my DS at 20, and now having DD at 24. I know how hard it is, and have seen so many people have babies and then hand them off everytime they wanted to go out and have fun and uses the "but I'm still young" line thinking that makes it better!! It's THOSE young moms who don't care enough about their children who make us all look bad.
I have a fear of MIL running into the L&D room while the actual delivering is happening. She did this to her daughter, after being told not to. When SIL's DD was born, MIL took the baby (before SIL even got to hold or touch her) and didn't want to give her back. Lately, I started hinting at how I don't want ANYONE but DH in the L&D room until I say it's ok and MIL is acting like a b!tch about it. The fact that she thinks she gets to make the rules for this day over me, makes me despise her.
We let our Costco membership lapse about 2 years ago. We don't have the room for bulk items and we just couldn't justify the cost of the membership.
Anywho - BFF is taking me to Costco tomorrow to stock up on some non-perishibles. I'm so excited. Like I feel like I'm 6-years-old and going to Disneyland. I only wish we could have gone on Sunday so we could do the Costco Buffet Breakfast.
Unable to even.

My confession: I watched Jersey Shore last night...on purpose.
OMG, why??? Why would you do that???? Are you deliberately trying to go blind????

I agree!!! I had DD at 19 and going to have LO at 21. I have never once used the "I'm still young" line AND my family has never received financial help from anybody. We wanted to have children young so that's what we did.
Im so jealous of everyone that is having their baby right now... It is making me irritable and I can't stand it. A few close friends that are due a day before me for a week after me already have their LO's and here I sit.. pregnant.. wake up every morning,. still pregnant.. yes flameworthy but I feel like crap I want to stomp my feet like a child and scream.
ok I feel better lol
I was seriously going to send you a message asking if you were totally hating having to read all the birth stories. I'm just a couple days past 37 weeks and I'm finding them very irritating!! I'm sending you tons of labor dust right now!!

I would put the nurses on guard if I were you. This is just not OK behavior.

Yours have a buffet breakfast?! DH and I don't have a membership, but my parents do and they just took us last weekend. We end up splitting a bunch of items with them, since we don't have storage for a lot of the bulk stuff either. They did had a TON of Carter's outfits for under $7 though. :-)
Happy shopping! (maybe they'll have some good free samples)
I secretly hope there are visitor restrictions similar to the ones that started in oct. of last year at our hospital. No I do not want an h1n1 outbreak but if there is one I hope they have the restrictions again. Immediate family only and no one under 18

Ha! No, not literally. It's all of the freebies they give away in the food section. You can have yourself a decent sized meal there just by grabbing up one of every type of food offered.

I was about to be insanely jealous of your Costco. :-)
I love all the free samples that they hand out. I just hate being pushed out of the way by people once they pull something out of the microwave or oven...especially the older guys.

I plan on it! Anybody who will be in the waiting area other than MIL (my mom & sisters) will also be aware of what MIL is capable of. It's still something that I can't seem to get out of my mind! If I had it my way, she wouldn't come see us for days after the delivery, but I can't do that to DH, he is close to his mother. Thank God DH knows how his mother could be, though. If she starts acting up, he'll let her know. Gosh, I feel like I'm talking about a toddler!!
I bought and stashed 4 boxes of different cookies just for myself. DH is horrible when it comes to sweets and will devour a box on his own in a day without even thinking of me and our 2 kids. I only allow myself and the kids to have a few at the end of the day but when the end of the day comes around the cookies are gone because of DH. It iritates me that he refuses to buy sweets of any kind because he can't help himself. I buy them for me and the kids and he is the only one who eats them. I belive I have every right to hide the fact that somewhere in the house I have hidden cookies just for me and the kids to enjoy.
really wish I could have wine, and a smoke right now..
Every day, I check on our hamsters, and every day I hope that they died overnight. I'm horrible.. I like them, but one stinks horrible and I really regret getting her.
I have a pimple in the process of surfacing on my right nostril and it hurts like HELLLLL! It's kind of swollen and I look goofy.. (not really a FFFC but it's something that's buggin me lol)
My FFFC: I'm SO laughing at the fact that atliermethod finally got what was comin to her (on a message board). But karma's a b!tch too, so I'm sure she'll get it IRL too.

Really? You would rather that than give the hamsters away?

When you take another life into your home, whether it be human or animal, you are responsible for it. If you cannot, for any reason, accept that responsibility, then you should find someone who can. People who take animal life so lightly make me sooooo mad. Just because they aren't human does not make them any less valuable or important.

Also, to the PP about young moms, I'm a young mom (21 next month) and I judge other young moms too. It drives me crazy that I get lumped into the category of silly girls who get pregnant and have babies, then still want to go out with friends every night. I am fully aware of the sacrifices I am making to have my baby, and I wouldn't change any of it. FI and I wanted to have kids young, so we're doing it.
A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough...and the parts that look like magic turn out to be the messiest of all.
