I actually think the name Elin is very pretty. Yes, i think people would say "oh like tiger woods wife?" but on the plus side, I think it would be pronounced correctly these days... years ago, probably not.

It's pretty! Years from now, no one will even remember that it's Tiger's ex-wife's name - they will think of it as (possibly!) your daughter's name :-)

I like the name and do think people will immediately think of Tiger's wife in the year or 2 to come, but in a few years that will be such old news no one will be thinking about it.

I really dislike it. And not because of Tiger's wife. When he first married her I remember thinking it was a bad name. It's just so harsh and not feminine sounding to me. I guess I don't like that the first syllable sounds like -eel.

I love this name. I wanted to use it but DH vetoed. I don't think the younger generation will think of Tiger's wife.
