Prevnar vaccine ?

I'm doing some research on the Prevnar vaccine (Pneumococcal). 

Does anyone know where I could go to get good information?  I originally planned to give all recommended vaccines, but my pedi isn't sure if this one is necessary.  He didn't even give it to his own daughter.  So I'm doing some reseach.  What are you doing?

    DS got the first shot in the series (prevnar13) at his two month visits. While perhaps not absolutely necessary, it does help prevent ear infections and the like.

    We decided to go ahead and give the vaccine. We felt the risks of the disease were worse than potential side affects. DD has had two doses and has not had any reaction (not even a fever). I would recommend reading that section on the vaccine in Dr. Sears Vaccine Book. He does a great job of describing the disease, the vaccine and the side effects in an unbiased manner.
