Middle name suggestions for Lyla/Lilah

I LOVE the name Ava Layne, but since Ava has become so popular, I've moved on the Lyla. Lyla Layne obviously sounds silly, so I'm looking for a middle name. Our last name is one syllable and starts with a "G".

I'd also love to know which spelling you prefer: Lyla or Lilah?

Here are some things I've come up with so far, but I'd love to hear any suggestions you may have.

Lyla Charlotte

Lyla Kate (too short?)

Lyla Scarlett

Thanks for your time!

  • I like Lyla Grace a lot too, but our last name is Graham and I'm not fond of the sound of that all together. I kind of feel like Lyla Kate Graham and Lyla Jane Graham may be too short.

  • I have a one syllable last name and I have a Lila Catherine.

    :)

  • I prefer Lilah to Lyla 100%. Beautiful name :)

Lilah Kate sounds a little choppy with a one syllable last name, although it isn't too bad. I like both of your other mn, but Lilah Charlotte wins.

I like Lila or Lyla, no H.

Agree. The H always makes me want to change the pronunciation to "Lill-uh", for some reason.

And I actually prefer short middle names, even with a short last name. I have a 2 syllable first name, 1 syllable middle name, and 1 syllable last name... and I always thought it flowed well. I think both Kate and Jane are beautiful with Lyla.

  • My step sister's name is Lyla Quinn and I love it!
