similac alimentium (sp?)

I had my baby on similac sensitive and he was very gassy/fussy with it. I changed to similac alimentium under the advise of my pedi, which is hypoallergenic. Is anyone else using this formula? Is there a downside to using it?

He's doing much better and his gas problem is partically resolved. But, I'm not really sure if he's missing out on anything by using this and not the other formulas with milk in it. does this mean he's allergic to milk or he's just able to break this down easier?
