Success after IF

Was at L&D yesterday

I went because I was seriously contracting and having menstrual cramp pain, back pain, the whole bit. You guys may have seen the post I made about back pain, well, it was bad. So DH was off early from work somehow and we went to L&D. Luckily, DHs aunt watched Trig because his mom and dad are out of town (great timing, huh? :))

Anyway, I was there for like 6 hours total and I contracted like crazy the whole time, had pressure, back pain, but my cervix never changed at all. Everyone was shocked at the size of my contractions with no cervical change. They said you can either stay or go home, but they kinda wanted me to stay, but I was DESPERATE to get to my own bed - if I am not delivering tonight, then I want to go home. So I went home and things calmed down enough for me to sleep last night so I did. But this morning, I feel like I was hit by a truck. Hoping I am able to care for Trig just for the next few days until the in laws get home, and, shockingly, DH is off this weekend! So, I just gotta get through today and tomorrow....

Sorry this was so long. I am really tired and frustrated. I am glad that this baby is still cooking but I am EXHAUSTED.

  • Wow, that sounds like a rough day!!!  I hope your contrax either subside or they actually help with progress, so you don't have to go through that again!  Get some rest if you can!

  • sorry you have to deal with this....i'm betting you are close to delivering - less than 2wks.  maybe about 1 wk.

I saw your post on back pain and figured that was early labor too and contractions.  I don't have that much back pain (or any at all) and I am 35wks.

  • You poor thing!  I know it's not easy, but make sure you are getting enough rest.  I hope you feel better!

  • Sorry you are going through this, it's not easy.  I've had PAINFUL BH for about 6 weeks now and the back pain (oh, the back pain) for about 3.  It's not like your typical backache but hurts from the inside out.  Doctors keep telling me it's normal, blah, blah, blah.  And that BH should be uncomfortable, not painful.  So I said, what does 3-4 per hour, for hours on end, can't sleep, and have to literally "moan" through them like a cow mean!

Hope you feel better soon : )

edited: p.s., I am one day ahead of you!

  • Yeah...you need to get those inlaws back in town!

Hope things are looking up and you're able to rest today a little!

  • Oh no!! Glad you are more comfortable at home. Ugh! Stay put for a few more weeks little one!!!
  • Oh geez, I hope it gets a little better for you so that you can take care of Trig and not be completely wiped out!  I still can't believe you're 34 weeks already though--how did that happen?!?!  :)
