xp - food intolerance ?

So Lo was diagnosed with milk Soy Protein Intolerance at 3 months.  He is also intolerant to wheat and gluten.  I BF.  His symptoms were screaming when awake, gas and bloody stools.  once i cut dairy, he became a MUCH happier baby, but we always battled blood in his diaper.  The G.I is ok w/ it since he's happy, growing, etc.We delayed all solids till after 6 months to make sure his digestive system could handle it.  i have not had any dairy, soy, wheat or gluten for 4+ loooooooong months.   I'm going to have a sandwich tomorrow for my b-day. on real (albeit dairy free) bread. since his poops are standard solid poos, how will i know if he reacts?  He never had rashes or exzcema or anything.  I'm nervous to try something.  I don't want a screaming baby, but I have to try to incorporate food eventually and wheat/gluten didn't seem to cause pain.

  • I don't have much advice, but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone! I'm in the same boat with my baby having lots of allergies. I was off of milk protein, soy, nuts, and eggs since DS was one month old. I have reintroduced nuts and eggs back into my diet - as the doc recommended...but I too am nervous introducing solids and his reactions. It's so tricky! We just started cereal the other day and I'm constantly analyzing his poop!

It's really tough sticking to this diet (although I've lost a ton of weight so that has been great LOL) but it's worth it.

    I AGREE!
