Sleep, eat, scream ... repeat

I don't knwo what is going on, but since yesterday afternoon my child has been screaming bloody murder. I was thinking it was just because he was over tired, but i have no clue. He slept fine last night but was screaming again this morning ... like to where his face turns purple! But since, he has been eating for like 30 minutes then falling right back to sleep. Has anyone dealt with this around his age? I took his temp. and its normal, and there is no other obvious thing bothering him.  I'm wondering if I should be worried or if he is just a baby adjusting.

Re: Sleep, eat, scream ... repeat

  • Could it be gas pains?  Kellen rarely has gas like that, but when he does, he screams like crazy out of the blue!  I bicycle his legs and rub on his belly and that seems to help.

I hope you can figure out what is wrong--it's awful not knowing!  GL!

  • It could be...he is definitely a gassy baby, but is pretty good at getting it out on his own, very loudly! But he does grunt and hold his breath and push, to where I feel like he can't breath, it might be him trying to push out gas? He has been sleeping ALL day so far so hopefully he is better when he wakes up.

Most men are!  Big Smile  Hopefully he'll be better when he wakes up!

  • I also second the bicycling.  Does he arch his back?  That is a sign of reflux.  Reflux or being tired are the main things that B fusses about.
  • He does arch his back and grunts ... usually when he is waking up though.
  • Could it be a growth spurt? G had one the second week she was home with us (it was her 10 day growth spurt they say babies get)....anyway...she was misery!!! And trust me G is such a good girl....But when her growth spurts come, she is cranky, and cries and is fussy for no reason!!!
  • Q has been the same way today. Inconsolable, then eats really quick then conks out. Hopefully they aren't in any pain! :(
