TTC after 35

Going to try it

Well I am going to try accupuncture. Tomorrow. I do have some reservations about going. A friend referred me and told me that DR. will be brutaly honest and if she doesn't think it will help She will tell me.....hummmm do I want to be told "I can't help you"? Also she has told people before that they need to lose weight. I've been told that before..it is no secret!

Hopefully this may be the little extra shot get those darn eggs working...they need to search for those lazy swimmers.

  • Please report back!  I'm wondering about ACU too.
About me: A pixie in the city, 41, TTC #1 since May 2010, married 18 years. Diagnosed with, surgically removed, endometrioma Aug.2010 Sept 2010 IUI #1=BFN, Oct=cyst/bfn, Nov 2010 IUI #2 = bfn. Had to postpone IUI #3 b/c of a cyst natural=BFN. Skipped IUI #3, decided to go for IVF. Found/removed uterine polyps Jan 2011. IVF cancelled, no follicles. IVF #2: 3 great embies put in on Easter Sunday = BFN. Hoping for another chance at IVF in July. TTC is NOT for wimps. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/ticker/2fab90/ttc.png

  • I tried acu because i'd heard good things about it and was willing to try just about anything to maintain a pregnancy. I'd had 1 mc before going to acu. I also hate needles so was not thrilled about it at all. I went for 1 month when we were still trying naturally. I did wind up getting pg, but had yet another mc and then headed to an RE, where I successfully conceived DD #1 with IVF with ICSI.

Some people find acu relaxing, but i didn't - mainly because the only reason i was going was to try to get pg so i felt there was a lot of pressure on it/me to work. Insurance also doesn't cover it and it can be $$$, so keep that in mind. good luck.

  • I love acupuncture!!  I found it to be totally relaxing and I was PG with my DD after 6 weeks of going.  My Dr. helped me through my entire first tri and I managed with no morning sickness too. For this first IVF we decided to go back and I signed up for an 8 week session for my Dr, when I pay in advance I get a 10% discount maybe you could ask if that's possible for you too.  GL and I hope you like it.
