Need feedback on unusual theme

I am throwing my friend who is really into traveling (and her family has a strong heritage) an Around the World baby shower. We're going to pick a few countries to focus on and have food from there, find fun facts about pregnancy, childbirth, and babies in those countries, etc. For the invite, I am going to design a passport. 

Her nursery theme is related to travel, so I am pretty sure she'll like it.

Is it too out there? 

Any fun suggestions?

    I think that's a really cute theme, especially since she'll probably like it, as she used it for the nursery.

     I love the idea of the foods from different countries!

    How are you planning on presenting the information about babies, pregnancy and childbirth from other countries?

    Haven't decided if it should be part of a game or if it should be presented on cute cards somehow in the area designated for that country. I have a ton of those photo clip holders left over from my wedding that I could use to hold the cards up with the info.

    To present the facts about babies in the various countries you could make it a game where you have to match the fact to the country...  You could give everybody something to write on, then say the fact, have them write down which country they think it is from, then they have to show it to the room and the person with the most correct guesses gets a prize...?

    a little bit different idea is to have the facts on your photo clips scattered around the room with #'s on them.  Then you could have a pre-printed game sheet with the countries listed, where people would have to match the fact to the country.  After a certain amount of time you could collect everyone sheets and see who got the most answersn for the prize.  That way only people that want to play the game will play and it will also encourage mingling.
