Military Families

quick question

do any of you ladies know wether they consider kuwait a war zone, combat zone or hazardous duty type label for like deploying troops. I know a while back it was but I didnt they had changed it or not. I know its not like front lines or anything that bad. My aunt was deployed to the naval base there a few years back, and now my husband is transfering units and thats where they are set to deploy, and I havnt really looked into it much, this just sorta came up and I didnt know if any of you ladies know.

Re: quick question

  • I'm almost 100% certain that yes, it's considered "hazardous" as far as pay is concerned.

  • Just to ease your nerves if there are any, a girlfriend of mine lives in Kuwait with her DH who is in the army so if they let family move there its a pretty safe area.
  • Yes it is considered a combat zone. My ex is there and he sends his boys that extra money for combat as well as hazardous duty. I know that there used to be an AFB there that families can go to, but I dont know anymore.
