i saw mention of this in a previous post - can someone share the logistics of this? assuming this is with the velcro swaddlemes - how do you re-velcro the bottom piece to the two top pieces once you get them back in? do you just tuck it in?
and any tips for houdini babies that can wriggle their arms out of the swaddlemes?
Re: opening just the bottom of swaddles for diaper changes?
I just tuck the bottom flap back in as far as it will go. Its definitely not as tight as redoing the whole thing is, but DS will completely wake up if his arms are freed.
As far as houdini arms, DS can break out of the smaller swaddlemes because they're almost too small for him. The only time he's broken out of the large ones is after I've done what I mentioned above or he's been able to sneak his hand into the side opening and pry the top flap open.
We just tuck the bottom back in, but it's not as tight as when you just wrap LO. As for the houdini baby question I have 2 suggestions:
1. Miracle Blanket - DD has a much harder time wiggling out of it
2. Swaddle in a thin but large blanket first, then Swaddle Me over it. So it's a double swaddle, and it works wonders
this is only way I have tried, doesnt work well for us in swaddle me blankets, easier to wrap him back up!
