He pooped all over his bed and played in it!

So I have to share this story. A week ago DH and I decided we were going to get serious with the potty training thing and we but DS in underwear all day. I sent him to daycare with a ton of extra clothes and underwear. He did have some success mid week and went on the potty quite a few times. By end of week though it took a turn for the worst and every time we would say, "Okay it is time to go potty" he would throw a tantrum because he didn't want to sit on the potty and he would ask for a pull up. I told my husband Friday night that I thought we should put the brakes on the potty training for a couple of weeks since DS was resisting so much. My husband did not want to back down though. Well things changed Sat. afternoon when DS was suppose to be down for a nap and my husband went to check on him (I was out running errands) and found DS covered in poop from head to toe. He had took off his pull up (we were using them for naps and bed time) and poop and peed on his bed and then played in the poop. DH said it took him over an hour to clean the mess and DS.

After that incident we decided DS was sending us a clear message so we have gone back to pull ups but we are getting him in a routine of going potty every 30 min - 1hr. Even if he just sits on the potty he gets 1 sticker and if he does go pee he gets an M&M. He has gone 2x's this week and he does seem much happier and is not acting out as much. We may try underwear again in 2 weeks and see how he does.

The reason I wanted to post this is because I realized in this process that if DS isn't ready it is not going to happen and I wanted to share my stories with others on this board who may be experiencing the same thing!
