If you have been to Santa's Village...

So MH is going to take a couple days off and go with me so we have decided to hit the white mountains. Can you recommend any great kid friendly places to stay? Also any other fun things to do? We are going to go to Santa's Village, Clarks Trading Post and the Waterfalls, but I am wondering what else is fun.

Thanks!

  • Attitash is good to stay at with kids (the rooms have full kitchen setups), and is close to Storyland if you want to go there as well as Santa's Village.  I haven't been yet, but I hear the Polar Caves and Lost River Gorge are also fun.

  • I recommend Story Land over Santa's Village. I've spent many summers in the White Mountains. North Conway and the surrounding area have tons to do!

We have never been to either, but the water park @ Santa's Village was what was drawing us in. What is better about SL?

Do you have any hotel recs?

  • Story Land is just so family friendly. Very moderately priced. I've even gotten an actual "rain check." If you go after 3 (have to double check the time), you get another day in their current operating year for free. So, the last time we went we got there at 3 and went the next day also. It rained that day and they shut the park down so we got another day! We went right before driving home. There is a variety of things to do and every ride is geared towards smaller kids.

We've stayed at Attitash, the North Conway Grand Hotel, a Holiday Inn and a few others. It just depends on whether you want fancy or just a room to sleep.

We went last year to Story Land, didnt have the best of weather while we were visiting Story Land, but we made the best of it...I cant remb the nm of the hotel we stayed at, but I will chk and let you know.  It was cute, small but cozy.  We had a one bedroom that had an adjoing room with bunk beds.  My daughter loved it!!!  They owners have a big, friendly dog....breakfast in the am/pool/hot tub.  Walking distance to a little pub for dinner.  I will get back to you...okay
