Babies on the Brain

*biomaj5* nbr

I just peeked at your knitting blog.

On a side note: congrats to being proactive and dedicated enough to make time to blog about knitting!

Here's the point: Do you Seriously have 8 projects on needles right now!?! How do you keep it all straight?

Re: *biomaj5* nbr

  • lol, I have a problem with startitis and knitter's ADD. I'm not currently knitting on everything. Here's a rundown of what's going on right now, knitting-wise:

Geodesic cardi: I work on it mostly at thursday knit nights.

Secret stealth project: it is actually the duck feet booties from knitty. The recipient reads my blog and is on ravelry, so I can't say exactly what is is on the blog. I'm almost done with the first one, and this is my current project that I take to work and keep in my purse.

Aragorn socks: birthday present for a friend. Her birthday was in March. I need to start the second one, but it's on the back burner for now.

Central park hoodie: I hate the yarn I used (berroco comfort), and all I lack is seaming the sleeves on. It is in time out and hidden in a corner right now because I hate it. I'll likely never finish it, but I don't want to delete the project notes (the project list is directly linked to my ravelry projects)

Clapotis: in hibernation right now while I knit other things.

Skull socks:  Stalled. I'm not sure what I'm going to do about these. I promised them to a sick coworker as a silly way to make him feel better (they're hot pink and he's not exactly into girly colors). I'm stalling on finishing them, and I don't know why. I have a toe done on the first one. They sit on my coffee table and mock me every day.

La digitessa socks: it's a very complicated pattern (not hard, just a lot going on), and so they're on the back burner while I work on other things.

Mystic Light shawl: this was supposed to be my mom's 2009 christmas present. I'm not done yet, and it's gotten tossed to the side while I work on other things (do you see the recurring theme here lol?)

Skew socks: will be frogged. I hate the way the yarn was striping.

I'm going to start the Serpentine socks from Wendyknit's book "socks from the toe-up" as soon as my yarn comes in. They have a large knitalong on Ravelry, so I'm doing it as a part of that. The socks are going to be my mom's birthday gift next month.

My name is bio, and I have a knitting problem.

ETA: good grief that was long. Sorry about that.

  • ::blushes:: aww thanks. I started knitting in Nov 2008 to take my mind off of TTC, and I somehow just ended up with 2 obsessions.

  • I've been "knitting" since 2001 and you've seen what I can do....a scarf!

I'm still working on the one that I started in February.

  • Yes, but you have a baby and a teen to keep you away from knitting. I just let my dogs sit on the couch with me when I knit and they're satisfied.

  • Sorry, I stepped away for a LOOOOONG lunch.

What didn't you like about the Berrocco comfort?

  • Honestly, it's because the yarn twisted soooo much that it drove me insane. I think of that when I see the cardi. I bought the yarn when I was a brand new knitter, and now I'm more aware of what yarns I like/dislike.

That, and I'm a now Tempted yarns whore. More than half of my stash is Tempted lol. It helps that I'm best friends with her sister.
